Farm Market & Egg Grading Team Member

Springford Farm is growing, and we’re looking for a dependable, friendly and hard working human to join our team in a role that blends egg grading and farm market customer service.
This is a permanent, year-round position with a steady schedule and a mix of behind-the-scenes production work and front-facing customer connection — a great fit for someone who enjoys variety, teamwork, and being part of a local food system that feeds our community.

🥚 Egg Grading Responsibilities
You’ll be part of the crew that prepares our eggs for market, including:
Cleaning, inspecting, and packaging eggs
Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and sanitation
Cleaning and sanitizing grading equipment and work areas
Following all CFIA food safety procedures
🛒 Farm Market Responsibilities
When you’re in the market, you’ll help create a great experience for every customer by:
Providing friendly, welcoming customer service
Operating our point-of-sale system
Keeping the market, fridges, freezers, and warehouse clean and organized
Helping with receiving, rotating, pricing, and stocking products
Contributing to general cleaning tasks
Wage is negotiable based on experience, with a performance and wage review after 60 days.
Education required:
High school diploma
Experience & skills:
Required
Strong reliability and punctuality with the ability to commit to a consistent weekly schedule
Comfortable performing physically active, repetitive work (standing for long periods, lifting up to 50 lbs regularly, repetitive upper-body movements, sorting, packing, cleaning)
Able to work in a fast-paced, production-style environment with attention to detail
Willingness to follow food safety, sanitation, and CFIA procedures
Comfortable working around machinery and equipment
Able to work both independently and as part of a team
Friendly, clear verbal communication with customers and coworkers
Preferred (but not required)
Experience in grocery, retail, food service, agriculture, or food production
Familiarity with point-of-sale systems
Experience with inventory, stocking, or receiving
Knowledge of or interest in local food and farming
Level 1 first aid certification is an asset
Food safe certificate is an asset

Additional Info:
🕒 Schedule & Availability
We are looking for someone who can commit to 4–5 days per week, or 20-30+ hours with a combination of:
Egg grading shifts (at least 2 each week)
Farm market shifts (at least 2 each week)
Availability requirements:
Must be regularly available at least 2 days for egg grading Monday–Wednesday and at least 1 day on Saturdays or Sundays for market shifts
Schedule and weekly hours are negotiable as long as these requirements can be met.
